WHO WE ARE
Our journey begins in January 2021 when, disappointed with the quality, taste and origin of cereal products that existed in the market, we attempted to create our own handmade products at home, with native raw materials products of the Greek land. The result was really unique…
But it was also the motive to dare and take the decision to launch Philippa Foods, with the aim of turning our initial creations into a complete line of Granola and Bar products offering it to consumers…
With a basic principle, however, that would differentiate us….Each product will be interwoven with a specific ingredient, which in addition to being tasty and of high quality, will originate from Places in Greece that only there it is produced and is known for this uniqueness…
This is how we began to search all over the country for these important raw ingredients, gifts of the Greek land – from producers with specific quality requirements. After a lengthy period of attempts, contacts, tests, discoveries, we concluded…
• In the famous Chios PDO Mastiha oil
• In the tasty variety of Figs Smyrneiki from North Evia
• In the aromatic and exquisite Bergamot from Corfu
• In crunchy Peanuts from the only peanut village in all of Europe, Ammoudia of Serres.
At the same time, we created a production area from scratch, based on the highest quality technical specifications, a workshop for the production of food products…
And we set forth to create our line, always faithful to our core values for Greek, handmade, quality products…
After many iterations, tests, refinements, new discoveries, dedication and endless work, we are immensely satisfied to be in the position to offer you the Ek Topon line of products and the possibility to love them! Enjoy!

THE ORIGINS OF OUR CORE INGREDIENTS
Chios PDO Mastiha Oil
Undoubtedly, the uniqueness of Chios Mastiha is due to the exclusivity of its birthplace, its excellent healing properties and its rare aroma, which made it sought after since ancient times, giving it the reputation of a great health booster.
In Chios, and more specifically in the southern part of the island, a special variety of shrub is cultivated, the Mastic shrub, from which the natural resin or Mastiha is extracted. Since 1997 it has been classified as a Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) product.
Results of laboratory research and clinical studies reveal that the natural Mastiha of Chios has unique beneficial and therapeutic properties. In particular, the beneficial effect of mastic against diseases of the digestive system, stomach ulcer and inflammatory colitis, its contribution to oral hygiene, its significant antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effect and the fact that it is a natural antioxidant have been scientifically documented. At the same time, Chios Mastiha contributes to the healing of wounds and the regeneration of the skin.
North Evia Fig – Variety Smyrneiki
The Figs of North Evia come exclusively from fig trees of the variety Smyrneiki and are distinguished by their soft pale yellow color, sweet aroma and rich taste. It is a traditional Greek superfood, which excites even the most demanding culinary enthusiasts.
Smyrneiki is a fine variety of figs that arrived in North Evia from Smyrna Asia Minor refugees and is famous for the large and sweet fruits it offers.
Known for their benefits to the body, figs are an excellent source of fiber and essential minerals such as potassium, magnesium, iron and calcium, even more so than milk.
Corfu Bergamot
The Corfu Bergamot has the characteristics of the historical and in present day widespread, “Citrus of Pergamon”. In ancient times, it was imported from that region of Asia Minor to Corfu, where it was well established and still grows today. It has a special and intense aroma and a small amount is enough to give us an explosive citrus taste.
Bergamot is a precious treasure of nature, because it stands out for its healing properties and the benefits it offers to our body. Antimicrobial and antiseptic, it relieves stress and improves mood, while bergamot essential oil provides a natural way to boost physical and mental well-being.
Peanut of Ammoudia, Serres
Ammoudia, Serres is the only peanut village in all Europe! It is surrounded by hundreds of acres of arable land, with the soil being ideal for the particular variety of peanut, or “kikiriki” as the locals call it. The producers timidly but lovingly went into this cultivation and in a very short time managed to make the village famous for excellent quality peanuts they produce.
Compared to other nuts, the peanut contains twice the amount of plant sterols, which is a real weapon in the fight against cholesterol. It also contains powerful antioxidants that help regenerate red blood cells and is a rich source of polyunsaturated fatty acids, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, vitamin E and B6.
